The latest webcast for BlackBerry developers (and those interested) hits today, with the main focus of this discussion focusing on utilizing BlackBerry’s excelent ‘push’ service for creating a higher level of application development. This is a free webcast but you must be registered to take part, check it out below…

Join us for a free webcast for developers on Tuesday, April 13. Learn how you can take full advantage of the BlackBerry Application Platform Push Service.

The most efficient way to get information to BlackBerry® smartphone users is through the BlackBerry® Application Platform Push Service. With the BlackBerry Push Service, developers can create apps that provide information to users, whenever and wherever they need it.

In this webcast, you’ll learn how the BlackBerry Push Service can:

Push any type of data, text or images without restrictions. Developers can even send large amounts of data (more than 8 KB) by using multiple pushes that get reassembled on arrival.

Use true push technology to turn your app into a Super App.

Deliver data to BlackBerry smartphones in the background, providing the user with an always-connected BlackBerry experience.

Create network-efficient apps. Unlike competitor apps that repeatedly poll servers for new data, BlackBerry Super Apps optimize data usage and battery life.

>>Register for this Webcast

BlackBerry’s latest webcast for developers takes place tomorrow afternoon (2:00 PM EST).
This most recent webcast is one of many in an on-going series of interactive discussions between RIM and 3rd party developers, this one in particular pertaining to Java application development. From the looks of things this will be catering to developers that already have a firm grasp on building java apps but are looking to improve their work. However I imagine that anyone of any skill level interested in developing apps for BlackBerry will benefit from partaking in this discussion. You can Register HERE to get in on the conversation. Enjoy developers.

BlackBerry® smartphone users already know the value of mobile applications. Now Research In Motion is taking the experience to the next level by introducing an exciting new class of mobile applications: the Super App.

A Super App leverages the unique capabilities of the BlackBerry platform to offer a seamless, integrated and efficient experience.

We invite you join us for a free webcast for developers on Thursday, February 25, to learn how you can be part of the Super App revolution.

In this webcast, you’ll learn how to:

    *

design apps that are stickier, more intuitive, more engaging and more valuable to users
*

maximize network efficiency and battery life with “always-on” apps that run in the background, quietly waiting for the right time to spring into action
*

add custom menu items and data to the Inbox, Address Book and Calendar so your apps are always one click away
*

leverage true push technology to deliver “just-in-time” data with audible notifications and customized messages

Date: Thursday, February 25, 2010
Time: 2:00 PM EST
Presenter: Mike Kirkup, Director, Developer Relations

So last week I received this email from BlackBerry…

…In this webcast, we’ll show you how to create compelling themes for BlackBerry smartphones. With BlackBerry Theme Studio, you can develop colorful and interactive themes, mobile websites, splash screens, graphics and animated content that are optimized for the BlackBerry smartphone. Our presenters will show you how to customize the home screen, add custom ring tones, change menus, icons and much more.

We’ll also help you profit from your themes by bringing them to market through BlackBerry App World™. This storefront is an ideal spot to bring your BlackBerry smartphone applications and themes, whether they’re consumer-focused or targeted to business users.

After the presentation, our panelists will take your questions and provide
real-time responses.

SoI finally got around watching and listening to this webcast which is around an hour and a half long but well worth it if you are a developer or even interested in developing themes for BlackBerry. A lot of ground is covered on the topic of selling your themes on BlackBerry app world, as well a really good Q&A session, all which is definitely worth a listen especially if you are monetizing your themes. Enjoy the webcast, then go build something worth selling
