BlackBerry 9800 gets official !

Today is the day that many of us have been eagerly awaiting as Research In Motion (RIM) and AT&T held a launch event in New York city officially introducing the world to BlackBerry 6 and more importantly the first device that will run this latest software. Of course I speak of none other than the highly anticipated BlackBerry Torch 9800, the first BlackBerry smartphone that will offer users a true touchscreen experience while concealing a more traditional qwerty keyboard that reveals itself with a vertical ‘sliding’ action of the upper touchscreen. The BlackBerry 9800 Torch is now live on BlackBerry’s official website as well as AT&T’s site and will be available starting August 12 to AT&T customers for $199.99 USD with a qualifying 2-year service agreement. This is a great leap forward for RIM in the ever expanding market of touchscreen devices and in my opinion looks to be the best BlackBerry smartphone to date.
