The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet has arrived! Yes, good news today for BlackBerry fans who’ve been waiting for RIM’s answer to the Apple iPad or the Samsung Galaxy tablet. Research In Motion has joined in the tablet game big time, and has taken the BlackBerry brand to an entirely new level of sophistication, design and performance.

The new BlackBerry PlayBook sports a beautiful 7″ LCD, 1024×600, WSVGA high resolution display that offers both 4-finger multi-touch and gesture support, a Micro USB port along with a Micro HDMI port for 1080p playback, a 3 MP 1080p HD forward-facing camera and a 5 MP 1080p HD rear-facing camera perfect for face to face chats all supported by built-in stereo speakers and stereo microphones.

On the inside RIM has provided the PlayBook with a nice amount of power to get things done fast and provide true simultaneous multitasking. On board is a 1 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB RAM which allows the PlayBook to take advantage of the new BlackBerry Tablet OS powered by QNK Software Systems.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is an exceptional leap forward for RIM in terms of technology and power but still manages to hang on to it’s BlackBerry roots.
