2011 BlackBerry Developer Challenge

Attention developers, the BlackBerry Partners Fund has launched the 2011 BlackBerry Developer Challenge and is now accepting submissions for the first competition in the challenge, Best Flash/AIR Mobile App for BlackBerry PlayBook. The challenge focuses on finding the best apps by platform and technology globally and includes the following competitions:

• Best Adobe Flash®/AIR app
• Most Innovative BlackBerry WebWorks™ app on the BlackBerry PlayBook and BlackBerry 6
• Most Addictive social app using the BBM™ Social Platform

New for this year, the BlackBerry Partners Fund is looking for the best applications in the following categories and will present these developers with global Recognition Awards:

• Best B2C app developed for a customer by an Agency or ISV
• Most useful enterprise application
• Best website conversion using the BlackBerry WebWorks platform
• Most creative implementation of Super App characteristics
• Top Performers – Most Innovative use of Payment and/or Advertising
• Academic – Most compelling app created by student or faculty

This years challenge is the biggest yet, with prizes offered to developers valued at $3 million dollars US as well as incentive prizes including BlackBerry devices and a featured slot in the BlackBerry App World carousel for 1 week! Good luck App Dev’s and happy coding!
